3 and 1/2 minutes

So, next Sunday from noon-4pm, there's a free concert in G.G. Park. Featured performers include: Hootie and the Blowfish, Better than Ezra, and Jem. While I couldn't care less about Hootie, as I still assume he'll be singing Burger King jingles, I like the other two groups.

Jem rocks, a lot. I think she's groovy.
I also feel a sense to listen for myself to B.T.E.
and decide whether I feel that Ezra's lawsuit of libel against the band was truly justified.

So... I thought: Why not make a thing out of it? Anyone interested?
I thought maybe people might want to go a bit early, scope out a comfy area for lounging, maybe have some munchies, and hopefully enjoy the great weather. People could kinda come and go as they pleased over the afternoon. We could have veagan peanut-butter cookies, beer, good company... anything we want!

Sound good to anyone? Any takers?
If people seem into it, I'll get more details together.

I'm so incredibly down! I loved Better than Ezra and, I admit, even liked a couple Hootie songs back in the day. I once was crowd surfing during a B.T.E. concert at the Fillmore, got passed up onto the stage and had to dive back into the crowd to avoid being removed from the stage by the roadie who was running toward me. Ah, to be 14 again. After the show, we got to meet the guys in the band and they laughed about my misadventure. I asked them what the band name was about and they said the story had disappointed so many people that they'd decided to not tell it anymore. That was good enough for me. So, hook me up with the details and we'll enjoy a picnic in the grass and some 90's rock.

Sean just informed me that day is Father's Day... so I'll have to get back to you about this...

Yeah, I didn't realize that either at first.
The whole thing may be ill-conceived.

I had resolved to see more live music,
go to more concerts and events.
but now I'm thinking-
ahh, fuck it.

it's also going to be absolutely teeming with hippies because of the lack of an admission fee. good luck even finding a space on the grass to sit -- hippies would rather get to a place several hours early than pay a single dollar to get in.

also, hippies eat their young.

i do want to go to more ggpark events, kati, so any non-parent holiday i am totally in.

I'm also in... barring school, impending exams, family birthdays, illness, scheduled vacations or PMS. Although I am also not a great fan of hippies, I'd bear millions of them for Kati's company.
